JELLYFISH SNACK
Industrial Design
With increasing plastic pollution and jellyfish overpopulation threatening marine ecosystems, I designed a system of base stations and transmitters to address both issues.
The transmitter emits infrasound to lure jellyfish toward sea turtle habitats, encouraging turtles to feed on them instead of mistaking plastic for food. A vortex, generated by propellers in the hollow structure, collects floating waste. An interactive interface displays the energy status and location of each unit, allowing administrators to guide divers to retrieve collected plastic.
This system reduces the risk of plastic ingestion for turtles while helping rebalance the marine food chain.
