HMP Wandsworth ：Reimagined
In the HMP Wandsworth prison project, we found through field research and interviews that prisoners were locked up in cells lacking privacy and storage space for 22 hours a day, and 50% of them suffered from ADHD and 50% had literacy skills equivalent to that of an 11-year-old. Inspired by folding beds, we proposed a design of modular furniture and foldable toilet areas, aiming to enhance the privacy and autonomy of the cells, improve the quality of life and mental health of prisoners, and help them integrate into society more smoothly.
在HMP Wandsworth监狱项目中，我们通过实地调研和访谈，发现囚犯每天22小时被关在缺乏隐私与储物空间的囚房中，并有50%患有ADHD、50%识字能力仅相当于11岁水平。受到折叠床的启发，我们提出了模块化家具与可折叠如厕区的设计方案，旨在提升囚房的隐私性和自主性，改善囚犯的生活质量和心理健康，从而助力其更顺利地融入社会。
